Gear up for the 2nd Round of the 2025 YF Life Jr. Space Camp Program

May 14, 2025

The "YF Life Jr. Space Camp Program," organized and fully sponsored by YF Life Insurance International Limited (YF Life), continues to inspire young candidates, attracting over a thousand applicants this year. The program’s unique training model and highly inspiring activities have propelled 50 promising candidates into 2nd Round Competition, following a rigorous initial selection process.

These 50 children, accompanied by their parents, recently completed the immersive "All-round Jr. Astronaut Training Camp." This included a captivating space exploration program organized by the Hong Kong Space Museum and an engaging one-day adventure-based experiential training held at Noah's Ark, designed to unlock their potential and prepare them for the 2nd Round Competition.

In celebration of YF Life’s 50th anniversary, a special “YF Life 50th Special Parent Talk: A Resilience Builder. A Dream Maker. It is Possible!” was held, featuring Mrs Mak Ho Siu-kuen, an occupational therapist and senior child development consultant, the mother of “10A & Miss Hong Kong” Louisa MAK Ming-sze. Mrs Mak shared with the shortlisted Jr. Astronauts and their parents on how to foster resilience and a spirit of challenge, empowering parents to help their children build psychological strength and unlock their potential.

The 2nd round competition of the "YF Life Jr. Space Camp Program" will take place on May 17, 2025. The 50 shortlisted candidates will undergo a series of tests assessing their physical fitness, space knowledge, and presentation skills, and 20 finalists will be selected to attend the final interview.

Established in 1999, the YF Life Jr. Space Camp Program is the first program in Hong Kong and Macau offering children simulated astronaut training. The program has consistently garnered strong support from all sectors of society. Through its innovative and unique training methods, the Program aims

  • Enhance children’s interest in space exploration and advanced technology
  • Cultivate a spirit of perseverance and courage to break through personal limitations
  • Inspire them to embody the “It is Possible!” spirit

The selection process culminates in the appointment of eight finalists as YF Life Jr. Astronauts. These eight, along with a parent, will embark on a 9-day U.S. Space-Exploration Journey this summer.
