Nurturing Actuarial and Risk Management Talents

YF Life Insurance International Ltd. (YF Life) is pleased to announce the establishment of the “YF Life Scholarship in Actuarial Science and Risk Management” at The University of Hong Kong (HKU). YF Life is committed to facilitating the sustainable development of the insurance industry by nurturing talents.

Mr. Victor Yip, Chief Executive Officer at YF Life, said, “Talent nurturing is the key to the continued growth of the insurance industry. Only by enhancing the quality of the talent pool can the needs of the industry’s development be met. As a stakeholder in the industry, YF Life understands the importance of grooming talents to business success. This is why, apart from developing competitive products and services, we also place a great deal of emphasis on talent development and invest heavily in nurturing frontline and backend talents. With the establishment of the ‘YF Life Scholarship in Actuarial Science and Risk Management’, we hope to encourage students to strive for academic excellence, help nurture students with an aptitude for insurance, and foster the growth of the industry, thereby delivering on our brand promise to ‘Own the future’.”

Prof. Stephen Man Sing Lee, Head of the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science at HKU, said, “We are grateful for YF Life's generosity in offering the scholarship to our students. The scholarship provides a strong motivation for them to excel in their study and future career in insurance and related industries.”

YF Life has pledged to donate HK$375,000 to establish the “YF Life Scholarship in Actuarial Science and Risk Management” for outstanding undergraduate students in the Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science or Bachelor of Science (Major in Risk Management) degrees at HKU as an award recognizing their academic merit and performance in an interview.
